Peacock has released the first trailer for The Continental, the upcoming John Wick prequel miniseries that will debut in September.

Set in 1970s New York City, The Continental will follow a young Winston — played by Ian McShane in the main film franchise — and detail how he came to be the manager of the city’s Continental Hote.

Here is the official synopsis for the series, via Peacock:

The three-part event series will explore the origin behind the iconic hotel-for-assassins centerpiece of the John Wick universe through the eyes and actions of a young Winston Scott, as he’s dragged into the Hell-scape of 1970’s New York City to face a past he thought he’d left behind. Winston charts a deadly course through the hotel’s mysterious underworld in a harrowing attempt to seize the hotel where he will eventually take his future throne.

Starring in the series is Colin Woodell as a young Winston Scott, who fans know from the John Wick franchise as being the proud proprietor of The Continental in New York City, which has gone on to become an iconic locale in the history of action movies in recent years.

In addition to Woodell, The Continental also stars Mel Gibson, Hubert Point-Du Jour, Jessica Allain, Mishel Prada, Nhung Kate, Ben Robson, Peter Green, Jeremy Bobb, Katie McGrath, Ray McKinnon, and more.

The release of the trailer for The Continental comes on the heels of John Wick: Chapter Four‘s massive success, as it has racked up over $300 million at the global box office and is the highest-grossing R-rated film since 2019.
