‘The Flash’ Is Shaping Up To Be One Of The Biggest Bombs Of All Time

The Flash is shaping up to lose Warner Bros. about $200 million, which would make it one of the biggest bombs in the history of Hollywood.

Despite the apparent draw of two different Batmans, one of which was played by Michael Keaton for the first time in 30 years, The Flash has barely cracked $100 million at the domestic box office.

With a reported budget in the neighborhood of $225 million and marketing costs at around $150 million, box office analysts projected that the film would need to equal the total of The Batman (around $770 million) in order for it to be profitable.  Currently, though, the film sits at $246 million at the international box office.

As such, The Flash is currently projected to lose Warner Bros. about $200 million which is not only an outright disaster for the studio but also makes it one of the biggest bombs of all time.

In addition to Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as their respective version of Batman, The Flash also stars Ezra Miller, Sasha Calle, Michael Shannon, and more.

Making matters worse for Warner Bros. is the fact that they still have not one but *two* more movies from the previous regime to release: Blue Beetle, which hits theaters in August, and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which is slated for December.

With a budget of $120 million, Blue Beetle — which looked painfully unremarkable in its first trailer — also faces an uphill battle to profitability, especially considering the stench left by both The Flash and Shazam! Fury of the Gods.

While Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom may stand a better chance, its equally absurd $205 million budget plus general audiences clearly losing patience with the DCEU also makes its box office prospects quite precarious.

The only person who seems to come out of The Flash better than where they started is Supergirl actress Sasha Calle, who has a whole new legion of fans thanks to her appearance in the film.
