The Top 50 Bars In The World For 2020 List

Well, this ranking of the top 50 bars in the world for 2020 has me disappointed in us as a country.

I mean, sure, that whole presidential election thing has been a bit trying, and the pandemic just keeps getting worse because Americans simply cannot stand to be told what to do or where to do it.

What I am talking about is the fact that only five of the top 50 bars for 2020 are in America. Even worse, all five are located in New York City!

Really? No other bars in the entire country that is the United States warrants being in the top 50 this year?

It’s not like we can argue with the rankings. They were compiled by a website that has a URL which is literally Worlds50bestbars.com. They should know.

Topping the list they have London’s Connaught Bar, who moved up from number two in 2019.

“It’s been knocking on the door for a number of years, but 2020 sees Connaught Bar a vindicated winner of The World’s Best Bar and The Best Bar in Europe,” wrote The World’s 50 Best Bars.

At least America grabbed second place with New York City’s Dante, but they were number one in 2019 so that’s actually a drop in the rankings. Plus, Dante was the only bar in America that made the top 10.

The rest of the top 10 best bars in the world for 2020 broke down like this…

3. The Clumsies (Athens)

4. Atlas (Singapore)

5. Tayēr + Elementary (London)

6. Kwānt (London)

7. Florería Atlántico (Buenos Aires)

8. Coa (Hong Kong)

9. Jigger & Pony (Singapore)

10. The SG Club (Tokyo)

As for America, we ranked 12th (Attaboy), 13th (Nomad Bar), 16th (Katana Kitten), and 38th (Employees Only), all located in New York.

Sad.

I think I need a drink.
