  • Kanye West took shots at The Daily Show host Trevor Noah on Instagram last week.
  • The language that West used in the post resulted in a 24 hours suspension.
  • Noah has since addressed West on his show and on social media.

The Daily Show host Trevor Noah, who found himself as the subject of one of Kanye West’s latest Instagram outbursts, has addressed the 44-year-old rapper’s behavior and says that he needs counseling.

West, who has been displaying erratic behavior in recent months (and years), posted a photo of Noah to Instagram captioned with the lyrics of “Kumbaya, My Lord,” except “Kumbaya” was repelled as a racial slur.

Speaking about Kanye on The Daily Show, Noah highlighted how West’s behavior has evolved over time and that even Kim Kardashian — one of the most “power and richest” women in the world — is having a difficult time avoiding West’s harassment

“Over time, Kanye has become more and more belligerent in how he tries to get Kim back,” Noah said on the March 15 episode of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.

“It touches on something that is more sensitive and more serious than people would like to admit,” Noah said. “I see a woman who wants to live her life without being harassed by an ex-boyfriend or an ex-husband or an ex-anything…You may not feel sorry for Kim because she’s rich and famous, but what she’s going through is terrifying to watch. And it shines a spotlight on what so many women go through when they choose to leave [toxic relationships].”

“What we’re seeing here is one of the most powerful, one of the richest women in the world unable to get her ex to stop texting her, to stop chasing after her, to stop harassing her.”

Then, on Sunday, Noah took to Twitter to say Kanye needs to be counseled, not canceled:

As a result of his post about Noah — which was shared during a spree that also saw him take shots at D.L. Hughley and Pete Davidson — the Donda rapper was suspended from Instagram for a period of 24 hours for violating Instagram’s policies on hate speech, harassment, and bullying,”
