Famed sitcom star and standup comedian Jerry Seinfeld will be starring in his first-ever live-action movie when Unfrosted, which he also directed, hits Netflix in May.

Based on Seinfeld’s long-running bit about the creation of Pop-Tarts, Unfrosted also stars Melissa McCarthy, Melissa McCarthy, Amy Schumer, Hugh Grant, Christian Slater, Bill Burr, James Marsden, Jack McBrayer, Thomas Lennon, Bobby Moynihan, and more.

Check out the official trailer for Unfrosted below.

Here is the official synopsis for Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, via Netflix:

Michigan, 1963. Kellogg’s and Post, sworn cereal rivals, race to create a pastry that will change the face of breakfast forever. A tale of ambition, betrayal, sugar, and menacing milkmen, Unfrosted stars writer/director Jerry Seinfeld.

Unfrosted — you can see Seinfeld break down the joke that provides the basis for the film’s story — will be released on Netflix on Friday, May 3.

The only previous narrative film that Seinfeld has starred in is the infamous 2007 animated project Bee Movie, which has become an ironic cult classic since its release due to the bizarre nature of its plot.

The story of Bee Movie follows Seinfeld’s Barry B. Benson, a honey bee who tries to sue the human race for exploiting bees after learning from his new florist friend Vanessa Bloome, whom he falls in love with, that humans sell and consume honey.

Bee Moie has since been popularized thanks to years of bizarre memes,  such as a video on YouTube titled “bee move but it keeps getting faster” that has almost 1 million views. “Bee Movie but it’s in 3 minutes” has also clocked over a million watches.
