A Virginia woman says she found a fly baked into a Wendy's chicken nugget. Here's what she filmed and how her viewers reacted.
A Virginia woman took a bite of her chicken nugget from Wendy’s, only to discover something baked inside that would put many customers off the popular item for life: an insect.
Brina (@brinnaaab) posted a video that received more than 1.5 million views.
In her video, Brina says very few words. She lets the fly, which appeared to be fried into the chicken nugget she bit into, do the talking.
Her video revealed a few things, however. Brina received a four-piece chicken nuggets order from a Wendy’s in Chesapeake, Virginia, through Uber Eats.
She says that she already ate two entire chicken nuggets. And as she wrote in the description, the entire situation grossed her out.
“I’m literally sick,” she said.
How Did The Fly Get In The Wendy’s Nugget?
In the comments section, viewers shared similar disgust and overall concern.
One commenter said, “I would have died right there on the spot.”
“The way I would drive straight through that mf Wendy’s,” another viewer said.
Other commenters, however, didn’t believe the fly ended up in her order accidentally.
“Why you put that fly in that nugget?” one commenter asked.
“How did it get inside the nugget, and it’s still moving after being frozen for a month and then deep-fried? Yeah, right…” another viewer said.
Multiple people claimed the fly was still moving, but Brina said it wasn’t.
“Y’all, I did not put the fly inside the nugget; that’s crazy as hell lmaoo,” she said. “Also, it isn’t moving; it’s my hands shaking lmao. As soon as I bit into it, I saw the fly. It was fried that way.”
An employee from the location Brina received her food from, who discussed the situation with BroBible, said, “That is honestly extremely disgusting and disturbing … We as a franchise [will] do our best to avoid that happening in the future by taking more safety precautions, such as checking the product before it is dropped and making sure that the bags in the freezer are secure and closed properly to avoid this happening.”
Other Incidents With Unwelcome Insects
While many viewers had doubts about Brina’s story, similar situations have happened to other customers who dined with other franchises. A Philadelphia woman, for instance, found a “family” of flies inside a salad from Chick-fil-A.
Separately, another woman found a moth inside a salad, which was also from Chick-fil-A. Then, there was one Panera Bread customer who found a stink bug inside a salad from the fast-casual dining chain.
It’s unclear how the bug ended up in Brina’s meal. Wendy’s allegedly par-cooks its semi-famous nuggets, so it likely would have had to be frozen and then fried. But finding a bug fried into a chicken nugget is a whole new level of gross, regardless of how it got there.
