In order to earn the right to compete on Jeopardy!, you must first pass a notoriously tough online test before making it through the multiple rounds of in-person auditions that are used to determine who makes the final cut.

I can’t say I’m intimately familiar with what it takes to become a contestant on Wheel of Fortune, and while I could look it up, I’m just going to assume it involves showing producers you’re capable of reading the first two pages of The Cat in the Hat before getting the chance to take the stage alongside Pat Sajak and Vanna White.

Look, you obviously need to possess some skill to vie for a spot in the bonus round on Wheel of Fortune, but even its biggest fans have to admit a program with puzzles that make solving a Wordle seem tantamount to cracking the Enigma code isn’t the most intellectually rigorous game show on the market.

That reality is reflected in some of the truly head-scratching answers competitors have issued over the years, and even though I know “epic fail” became the world’s most tired turn of phrase more than a decade ago, I can’t think of a better way to describe what unfolded on Wednesday’s episode.

During one of the rounds, a contestant named Tenaya had secured a $10,000 prize from The Wheel in addition to the $750 she’d racked up and had the chance to solve a “Show Biz” puzzle that read “—URASSIC PARK —O—IES.”

If you guessed the correct answer was “Jurassic Park Movies,” you did what she could not, as Tenaya inexplicably went with “Jurassic Park Bodies” and treated us to an all-time flub in the process.

It’s safe to say viewers couldn’t believe what unfolded.

Good job, good effort.
