Despite the fact that his career is largely in tatters following what should have been a legacy-defining Oscar win and his partner airing the dirty laundry of their relationship in public virtually every chance she gets, Will Smith claims he’s the happiest he’s ever been.

Speaking at an event at the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Jada Pinkett’s hometown of Baltimore, the 55-year-old Smith said he was in attendance because he “just really wanted to come out and just be here and hold it down for you the way you have held it down for me.”

“We have had a very, very long and tumultuous [relationship],” Smith said. “We call it ‘brutiful.’ As I stand here before you today, I am happier than I’ve ever been in my entire life. I have achieved every single thing I have ever wanted in my entire life.”

Pinkett and Smith were in Baltimore to promote her new memoir Worthy, which is why the 52-year-old has been a headline-making machine in recent weeks.

Following Smith’s infamous Academy Awards night slap of Chris Rock, the Best Actor winner has appeared in just one film, 2022’s Emancipation. At this time, he’s currently only signed on to star in one other project, a fourth film in the Bad Boys franchise.

Back in March 2022, the night he won Best Actor for his work in the film King Richard, Smith walked on stage and slapped Rock across the face after the latter made a joke about Jada Pinkett’s shaved head.

On her recent book tour, Pinkett Smith has since revealed that the pair have been separated since 2016 and that the first thing that came to her mind after Smith slapped Rock was her ‘shock’ that he called her his wife.

Pinkett Smith’s book Worthy was released earlier in October and is now available for purchase.
