A Texas woman, pole dancing in her home, accidentally flooded two apartments when she hit a sprinkler on the ceiling. Naturally, the whole disaster was caught on video.

Asha Gilbert was filming her pole dancing practice in her apartment in West Houston. The accident occurred as she was following along to a pole dance workout tutorial.

Gilbert said a colleague had given the pole to her, and she had only installed the pole three days earlier. Regretfully, they failed to secure it to the ceiling after installation. Rather, they depended on the tension of the pole between the floor and ceiling to hold it in place.

“He was like, ‘Hey, I have this pole, I’m giving it away. Do you want it?’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah, absolutely I want it,” Gilbert told ABC 13 News.

Right as she began spinning on the pole, it broke free and struck a fire sprinkler on the ceiling of her apartment.

“Immediately, I’m in shock because I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, this cannot be happening to me,'” she said, adding, “It wasn’t even a thought that it could possibly hit the sprinkler. We were more worried about it hitting a wall.”

Footage of the incident shows Gilbert’s and a neighbor’s apartments being flooded as water shoots out of the sprinkler. She said the water damaged most of her furniture and forced her to change apartments.

Her downstairs neighbor, despite water dripping into his unit, took it all in stride. Gilbery said “she was very, very cool and understanding, and I appreciated that.”

She said that after the accident, in which firefighters showed up, she is done trying to perform pole dancing routines at home. At least for now.
