While there are plenty of successful TV shows out there, there are few that achieve pop cultural phenomenon status the way Yellowjackets has.
Somewhat quietly premiering on Showtime in the fall of 2021, Yellowjackets slowly but surely built up steam and subsequent hype, eventually becoming the second-most streamed series in the history of the decades-old premium cable network.
Speaking to the gentlemen of the Yellowjackets cast ahead of the season two premiere, BroBible’s Post-Credit Podcast chatted with Steven Kruger (Coach Ben), Warren Kole (Jeff), and Kevin Alves (Travis) about how the bonkers show was pitched to them, when they realized they were starring in a hit, the most WTF moments from filming season one, and more.
Specifically, you can find the part where we discuss the first moment from the script that made them say ‘What the f***?’ at the 5:20 mark.
Steven Kruger/Coach Ben: when he loses his leg and it’s described in the script as “spaghetti leg.”
Warren Kole/Jeff: when he read the first scene of the pilot that sees the girls in the wood hunting their (human) prey for “chow time.”
Kevin Alves/Travis: when Travis turned the rifle on Natalie while they were practicing shooting.
Yellowjackets features a massive ensemble cast — as the story is split up between two separate timelines, one in the present days and one in the 1990s when their plane crashed in the Canadian wilderness — that features Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Juliette Lewis, Christina Ricci, Lauren Ambrose, Simone Kessell, Ella Purnell, Steven Krueger, Warren Kole, and Kevin Alves.
Here is the official synopsis for season two of Yellowjackets, courtesy of Showtime:
The Yellowjackets barely made it through summer, but now as winter begins to bite, we’ll see if hunger and desperation turn into full-on psychosis. Meanwhile, 25 years later, each survivor must determine if the darkness is coming for them or from them.
Ahead of its official season two premiere on Sunday, April 16, Showtime has already been renewed for the hit series for a third season. You can check out the official trailer for the highly-anticipated upcoming batch of episodes below:

The television community is clearly loving season two as much as they did season one, as the show’s most recent batch of episodes has debuted with a 100% critic’s score on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the second consecutive season to boast that rating.
