Linkin Park Singer Chester Bennington Found Dead Of Reported Suicide

TMZ reports that Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington was found dead on Thursday. The 41-year-old singer was discovered just before 9 a.m. at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates, a district of Los Angeles Country. Bennington’s death was said to be a suicide by hanging. As frontman for Linkin Park, the band created “Meteroa,” which is one of the biggest alternative albums in music history.

Chester was very close with Chris Cornell, who also committed suicide by hanging in May. Bennington spoke at Cornell’s funeral. The Linkin Park singer also wrote an open letter to Cornell after his dear friend had passed away. Thursday would have also been Chris Cornell’s 53rd birthday.

In the past, Chester said he had considered committing suicide because he had been abused as a child by an older male.

Bennington, who struggled with drug and alcohol addictions at various times during his life, is survived by six children from two marriages.
