20th Century Fox and Marvel have released the full-length trailer for the reboot of the upcoming Fantastic Four which will be released this summer. In January, the first trailer was released, but it didn’t reveal the Fantastic Four in action or showcase any of their superpowers. However the second trailer is not only more action-packed, but it also gives the first look at the film’s villain, Dr. Doom.
The plot centers around four young outsiders who teleport to an alternate and dangerous universe, which alters their physical form in shocking ways. Their lives irrevocably upended, the team must learn to harness their daunting new abilities and work together to save Earth from a former friend turned enemy.
The cast includes Miles Teller, star of the Oscar-nominated drama Whiplash, as Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic, the beautiful Kate Mara as Sue Storm/The Invisible Woman, Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm/The Thing, Michael B. Jordan as Johnny Storm/The Human Torch and Toby Kebbell as Victor Domashev/Dr. Doom.
Josh Trank (Chronicle) is the director and in charge of re-imagining Marvel’s original and longest running superhero team. He co-wrote the script with Simon Kinberg and Jeremy Slater.
This is Fox’s third film in the franchise; the original Fantastic Four from 2005, which was followed by 2007’s Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.
We shall see if this rebooted Fantastic Four makes the cut when it opens at the box office on August 7, 2015.
