SNL’s Drunk Uncle Shares His Thoughts About Donald Trump In Hilarious ‘Weekend Update’ Segment

Donald Trump’s hosting gig on SNL last night was the highest rated episode overnight episode since 2012, when Charles Barkley hosted with musical guest Kelly Clarkson.

Per Entertainment Weekly:

According to NBC, SNL had a whopping 6.6 household rating on Saturday night, easily beating the season’s previous high: the 41st season premiere last month, hosted by Miley Cyrus and with a guest appearance by none other than … Hillary Clinton. In fact, Trump’s overnight rating was 47 percent higher than the Miley/Hillary episode.

At times during the episode, SNL struggled to deliver fresh angles that haven’t already been staring the general public in the face for months. In their defense, it must be a tall order to derive creative comedy from a man whose mere presence is laughable.

But there were a handful of funny moments, namely the Weekend Update, with none of than SNL’s Drunk Uncle, who most likely sounds eerily similar to your drunk uncle–brash, uneducated on the important issues, drunk, and overtly racist. Drunk Uncle encapsulates the prototypical Trump supporter–tired of politically correct lip service, perceived inaction with the current administration, and drawn to the only candidate who has a larger presence than a fucking desk lamp.

Love him or hate him, Trump continues to lead the GOP primary polls. So there’s that.
