I recently sampled the Wild Turkey Rare Breed for my first time and I was impressed. This year, the authentic barrel proof whiskey went up to 116.8 proof and I was blown away how this spirit can both pack a bite and be incredibly smooth. The Rare Breed won a Double Gold Medal at the 2016 San Francisco Spirits Competition, the most prestigious bourbon and spirits competition in the world. At $45, this is an upper tier spirit that won’t break the bank.
In the glass, you see a deep and dark caramel color. There are tasting notes of caramel, vanilla, citrus, cinnamon, rye, honey, and more. The nose has some nutmeg and mint, along with caramel and vanilla. If you are looking for a new spirit to sample this weekend, consider trying out the Wild Turkey Rare Breed. You can find your local retailer by following that link below.

I’ve been singing the praises of Mophie in my weekly Gear Guide for years now. I don’t travel without my portable Mophie battery because I can’t stand being out in the world and having my phone die. Well, now I’m hooked on the latest release from Mophie. The powerstation USB-C XXL is built to charge up your laptop/MacBook on the go, as well as every one of your USB devices. $150 is steep for a portable battery, but this is invaluable if you travel a lot for work or just travel a lot in general.
Maybe I’m alone in feeling this way, but there are few things in life I enjoy less than cleaning my grill. I hate it. It’s a massive pain in the ass to disassemble all of the grates, scrape out everything underneath, and clean it from top to bottom….Enter the GrillFloss. This ingenious tool is built to scrape the underbelly of your grill’s grates which will save you A LOT of hassle the next time you have to clean out the grill.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m guessing you have at least seen one ‘Binging with Babish‘ video by now. That YouTube channel has absolutely EXPLODED over the past year. The concept is chef Andrew Rea cooks/re-creates meals from iconic TV and movie scenes. Well, he’s compiling these recipes into a cookbook that’s hitting the market soon. It will feature recipes from over 40 classic/cult films, and you can pre-order your copy of the book today.
I’m the type of person who writes everything down in a notebook. (Here’s why I keep a journal.) Especially when I can’t stare at a computer, tablet or desktop anymore. The biggest issue with doing things freehand is stacks of notebooks with no time to transfer it all onto a computer. Then the Rocketbook notebook happened and it’s like practicality met the damn future.
“Introducing the world’s first microwave-to-erase smart notebook. The Rocketbook Wave provides the freedom of a traditional pen and paper notebook, while instantly blasting your notes into the cloud using your smartphone. And when you use Pilot FriXion pens with the Wave notebook, you can erase your notes using your microwave oven and reuse your notebook. Go ahead and re-read that last sentence.”
Wuhhhtttt? That’s insane. An erasable notebook. And the microwave?!? We’re indeed living in crazy times.
“The seven symbols at the bottom of each page are the magic ‘buttons’ behind quick and easy cloud organization. Assign each icon to the folder of your choice within any of our eight integrated apps. When you mark that icon on your page, the Rocketbook app automatically files your notes in the right place.”
Now, the book only works with these Pilot FriXion pens, but the pens are pretty cheap. As for the Rocketbook, it’s $25, but it’s like buying five notebooks at one time. Get both at a deal.
