I have mentioned this many times here before on BroBible but I’ll say it again: despite the vast majority of my spirits coverage online being about Bourbon, Scotch, Whiskey, and Tequila…When I’m drinking at home it’s almost always red wines. I tend to go for Portuguese blends a lot these days because they’re affordable, and I drink a lot of west coast reds of every varietal.
I can’t say that I’m overly familiar with Vineyard 36 but I love their story. The Napa Valley vineyard was founded by ‘Stanley Cup winner Cam Ward and his NHL teammate Tim Gleason’. Cam Ward came to love wine in his rookie NHL season as his team (Carolina Hurricanes) would travel North America and the players would primarily eat at steakhouses on the road.
Vineyard 36 wines have been sipped by NHL players hoisting the Stanley Cup for six years in a row and Cam’s 2019 NHL retirement coincided with Vineyard 36’s release of their 2017 vintage. Surf Expo in Orlando is one of the largest and coolest events in the ‘Outdoors’ gear space.
