Geologie’s Tips For Treating Back Acne
1. Use warm water: rinse your skin with warm water before applying body wash. This helps to open pores and allow the salicylic acid to penetrate deeper into the skin.
2. Lather and let sit on your skin for 1-2 minutes: this will allow the salicylic acid time to penetrate and work its magic, unclogging pores, and preventing future breakouts.
3. Avoid using abrasive tools: harsh loofahs and rough washcloths can cause further irritation and exacerbate acne. Use softer tools like soft sponges, your hands, or gentle microfiber cloths.
4. Use your body wash regularly and consistently: use once a day, preferably in the shower to ensure you rinse off any leftover suds. Give this wash time to work, it may take a few weeks to see noticeable improvements.
5. Follow up with an oil-free and non-comedogenic moisturizer: contrary to belief, acne-prone skin needs moisture, too. Salicylic Acid can be drying to the skin, so a good moisturizer will help to balance your skin’s hydration. Avoid greasy and pore-clogging ingredients and stick to an oil-free moisturizer.
