Watch horror movies free on Plex this month

Do you feel that creeping feeling like something’s watching or haunting you? Like an evil spirit or devious monster is going to get you? No? Well, fire up one of the many great horror movies available on Plex this month and get your fright on. By the way, they’re free to watch!

That’s what Friday nights are for: curling up under a blanket with your special someone and some popcorn and trying not to get startled too much. Here are some of our personal favorite horror movies to send chills down your spine and make it hard for you to fall asleep tonight:

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974)

*insert chainsaw noise* When a movie can be known for just one specific noise, you know that it’s pretty iconic. There’s nothing quite like seeing good ole Leatherface chasing down your requisite group of young folk. Maybe he and the rest of his family were just misunderstood. After all, it’s hard to understand someone over the sound of chainsaws and grisly screams.

Nosferatu (1922)

There is no reason a 100+-year-old movie should be this scary. This silent flick predates the 1931 Bela Lugosi Dracula and set the tone for all horror movies to this day. Fans of Spongebob will recognize Count Orlok from an old episode of the show, but his role in this movie is a lot less lighthearted. I’m rattled just thinking about this movie.

An American Werewolf in London (1981)

John Landis is one of those directors from the 1980s that seemed to put out nothing but spectacular movies, and An American Werewolf in London is no exception. The perfect balance of horror, comedy, and ’80s over-the-top camp, this cult classic is insanely rewatchable.

The Devil’s Rejects (2005)

The sequel to House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects was Rob Zombie at the height of directing power. The Firefly family returns from the first film to exact revenge on the local police department for attacking their family. This has as much blood and guts as you’d expect from the mind of Rob Zombie, but it’s totally worth it.

Let the Right One In (2008)

There’s something special about horror movies that are made in other countries. Makes you wonder why we get stuck with so many of the same. This is a must-watch for true horror nerds, as it follows the story of 12-year-old Oskar and his new vampire love interest Eli that’ll remind you of what it was like to have your first crush growing up…minus the lust for blood.

There are a ton of great flicks to love on Plex, from pulse-pounding horror to critically acclaimed award winners. By the way, it’s all free! What are you waiting for? Sign up at the link below!
