Over in the UK they have this reality show called Love Island. It’s pretty much what you’d expect from the title. One of the participants in this season’s show is the current Miss Great Britain Zara Holland. Or well, actually, now she’s the FORMER Miss Great Britain because, whoops, she had sex on the show.
I guess Miss Great Britain organizers apparently hadn’t watched the show before allowing her to appear. It is a reality show called Love Island after all.

Zara spent the night with Vicky Pattison’s ex-boyfriend Alex Bowen – after he’d only been in the villa for a day – and immediately regretted her actions .
The official statement read: “Following recent actions within ITV2 show ‘ Love Island ‘ is is with deep regret that we, the Miss Great Britain Organisation, have to announce that Zara Holland has formally been de-crowned as Miss Great Britain.”
“As an organisation we have not taken this decision lightly, we are close to all of our winners and wherever possibly stand by them during their rein. That said, we feel we have no choice but to make this decision under the circumstances.
“The feedback we have received from pageant insiders and members of the general public is such that we cannot promote Zara as a positive role model moving forward.
“We wholly understand that everyone makes mistakes, but Zara, as an ambassador for Miss Great Britain, simply did not uphold the responsibility expected of the title.”
Yes, having sex on a reality show called Love Island is pretty egregious. (insert non-existent saracasm emoji here).
Some of you may recall that this isn’t the first time in recent memory a Miss Great Britain lost her crown for doing some a bit salacious.
Danielle Lloyd was stripped of her 2006 Miss Great Britain title after posing nude in the December 2006 edition of Playboy. Her title, however, was reinstated in 2010.
We’ll see if Zara will be so lucky in the future.
