Free beer is the best beer, which makes 10 Barrel Brewing Co. everyone’s new favorite brewery. They stocked a beer vending machine and spent three days giving free beer to anyone with a 21+ I.D.
You can make the best beer in the world, but it won’t do you much good if people never try it. Even though radlers are becoming more popular thanks in large part to Stiegl, fruit beers still tend to have a stigma. Fortunately no one turns down free beer even if they’re skeptical. That (and the obvious consumer brownie points) was all the reason 10 Barrel Brewing needed to fill a vending machine with their summer seasonal, Swill, and let people have at it.
This is th 2nd year for Swill, whose base beer is the award winning and awesomely named German Sparkle Party. It’s infused with grapefruit and has soda added, making it 100% crushable for hot summer days. It’s eases in at only 4.5% ABV as well so feel free to drink a dozen. If only the beer vending machine wasn’t just a publicity stunt.
The downside is that this only took place in the Pacific Northwest. The upside is that you don’t have to live near this guy with the green… pants?
