Dexter Season 8 is just around the corner, and Showtime is ramping up the marketing. The latest teaser, “Masterpiece,” puts Dexter’s murderous history on display, and asks how he be remembered. My guess is “not fondly.”
While Dexter is single-handedly responsible for ridding America of some of its worst serial killers, he also helped put many other murderers behind bars. What is going to happen when the public finds out his secret? Every one of those criminals is going to have a legitimate appeal. It will also destroy the credibility of a damn fine police department. The only way everyone wins is if he dies at the end of Season 8. Well, almost everyone wins.
