Macallan and Oakley team up for best whisky and flask ever

The Macallan | The Flask is the only vessel worthy of carrying The Macallan’s new 22-year old single malt scotch. The collaboration with Oakley is quite possibly the most badass flask of all time.

The Macallan | The Flask
To preserve taste and conserve the finely tuned The Macallan distillery process, The Flask has gone through extraordinarily exacting regimens and processes to ensure the exquisite taste of the single malt is maintained. The inner flask, laser welded and made of food grade steel is wrapped in carbon fibre composite as well as treated to an intensive passivation and electro-polishing procedure to ensure perfection. Clad in black anodized 5-axis machined aerospace grade aluminum, the sophisticated mechanics of The Flask are unparalleled.

Durable in style as well as design, the resilience of The Flask is assuredly hardy in application. From the rubberized bottom for non-skid grip to a small rectangular air vent on the side of the funnel to allow for ventilation, every potential circumstance and environment of usage has been considered.

I don’t know about which half of this project I’m more excited. I love a good flask, and Oakley has managed to create something absolutely incredible. They’ve come a long way from the T Wire sunglasses I bought years ago. But it’s no secret that The Macallan 18 currently sits atop my list of favorites, so the introduction of a 22 years old gets my juices flowing. Speaking of which, here’s the story.

The One-of-a-Kind Liquid from The Macallan
This single cask All American Oak single malt whisky is the first ever for The Macallan brand. Matured exclusively in American Sherry Oak and aged 22 years, this latest specialty whisky was carefully crafted to make as much of a statement as its partnered flask. Its lemon citrus and spicy wood flavors make their bold introduction, then are tempered by rich, creamy notes, ultimately smoothing into a sophisticatedly balanced heady, sweet finish.

If that doesn’t make your mouth water, you shouldn’t be drinking whisky. There are 550 limited editions of The Flask with the accompanying 22 years old spirit, so it’s certain to be a collectors item. That said, I believe all alcohol is meant to be drank so don’t expect me to hold onto it if I pony up the cash for one. How much are we talking about here? The tandem can be yours for the low, low price of $1,500.

If that’s too rich for your blood, you can try your hand at winning the flask (sorry, no booze) at The Macallan’s Tumblr page. If you don’t get lucky there, you can still by the flask alone for $900.
