You ask any athlete and they will tell you that in order to win you have to be great, but you also have to be a little lucky, but for Manny Pacquiao he was great and had a little black magic in his corner. In Saturday night’s WBO welterweight bout between Pacquiao (56-5-2) and Timothy Bradley (31-1) at the MGM Grand both fighters relentlessly delivered vicious abuse for 12 rounds of exciting action. However to start the fight it was Pacquiao’s mom, Dionesia Dapidran-Pacquiao who was dishing out the punishment. The elder Pacquiao was sitting ringside and what appears to be putting a curse on Bradley. It turns out that the hex worked because Pacquiao came out on top with a unanimous decision. This is why moms are the best, they’ll drive you to Little League, they’ll make you a peanut butter and jelly sandwich cut into triangles and they’ll wish that your opponent gets his cranium bashed in when he fights her darling baby boy.
Of all the people in the world I never, ever want Pacquiao’s mom to give me the middle finger.
