Extreme morning roof-walking | PepsiCo

If coffee isn’t your cup of tea but you still want a energy boost in the morning, Mountain Dew has just the thing for you. Kickstart is a new caffeinated drink that they’re pretending juice.

Available in two bold flavors, Orange Citrus and Fruit Punch, and only 80-calories per 16 oz. can, Kickstart presents a fresh alternative to the age old morning question of “coffee or juice,” by offering the best of all worlds. It combines the great taste of Mountain Dew with five percent real fruit juice and just the right amount of caffeine. It’s the ultimate morning “pick me up” that satisfies all day long.

That’s right folks, you can get 5% real fruit juice! Sure, you’re supposed to have 5 servings of actual fruit, but wouldn’t Mountain Dew be better? This isn’t actually a big leap for me. I’m that adult who still orders a Coke with breakfast. Sue me.

Kickstart contains more caffeine (92 mg) that normal Dew but less than coffee. While some may see that as a shortcoming, I call it drinking responsibly. You don’t want to get too extreme too early in the day. That’s a recipe for disaster. It’s set to hit shelves February 25th, so you won’t have to wait long to have your Saturday morning Call of Duty fuel.
