Finally, a sci-fi movie that isn’t about how we’re all going to die. It seems like just about every flick that’s coming out this year is a grim tale of life after some kind of apocalypse. The History Of Future Folk looks a little different. The quirky indie which won raves at Fantastic Fest is about a pair of alien invaders sent to Earth to conquer but who get distracted by the glories of bluegrass music and form a band instead. It seems ridiculous but people who’ve seen it say it’s played so perfectly that you can’t help but love it. The History Of Future Folk opens on May 31st.
