WWE Diva Emma arrested before ‘Monday Night Raw’ — UPDATED

via WWE

WWE Diva Emma, who’s real name is Tenille Dashwood, was arrested on Monday afternoon on suspicion of theft in Hartford, Connecticut.

The arrest happened not too far from the site of last night’s episode of Raw. The police record shows that WWE Diva Emma, a native of Australia, was taken into custody and booked on charges of sixth-degree larceny. WWE Diva Emma was arrested at 495 Flatbush Avenue, which is the address of a Wal-Mart in Hartford. Emma was released from police custody by the afternoon.

Before is the arrest log for WWE Diva Emma as it was posted to Hartford.gov.

WWE Diva Emma is the first Australian-born WWE Diva and a former TNA Knockout. She was trained by former WWE and WCW superstar Lance Storm and joined the company in 2007.

The arrest didn’t seem to phase WWE Diva Emma. The current Diva tweeted from the backstage area during last night’s Raw broadcast stating “Just passed 200,000 followers!! Wow! Thanks #EMMAcrats you’re the best! #WWE #lovemylife.”

WWE Diva Emma status

In recent months, Emma has appeared on Raw and Smackdown as a comedic sidekick to Santino Marrella. She’s also a recurring guest on The JBL and Cole Show on the WWE Network. Emma had her last televised match on the April 15 episode of Main Event. WWE Diva Emma participated in the Divas Battle Royal to determine the No.1 Contender to the Divas Championship and face Paige at Extreme Rules. She was eliminated by Nikki Bella.

It’s not known at this time how this arrest will effect WWE Diva Emma and her standing with the company. With her sporadic use, lower card status, and current trend of trimming talent from the roster, it wouldn’t be surprising if the federation cut ties with WWE Diva Emma.

UPDATE — The WWE issued the following statement to PWInsider this afternoon regarding the arrest. “WWE is aware that Tenille Dashwood (WWE Diva Emma) was arrested for shoplifting. Ms. Dashwood is ultimately responsible for her personal actions.”

UPDATE #2 —  Emma appeared in court today and apparently this is all a big misunderstanding.
