Blood Fills The Ocean As 70 Tiger Sharks Rip A Humpback Whale To Shreds In Australia

As if you needed another reason to stay out of the ocean, this footage shot by tour company Eco Abrolhos in Shark Bay will give you one.

In the very bloody video we see approximately 70 tiger sharks feasting on a humpback whale off the coast of Western Australia. Yes, 70. Sharks. And there are people in boats just sitting there watching the feeding frenzy. Crazy people.

“Something to show and tell the grandchildren,” said the company on Facebook.

Uh, I don’t know about that. Showing them this might not the best idea if you ever would like them to go into the ocean at some point in their lives.

It was unclear whether the sharks killed the whale or if it was already dead when they arrived. However, Jay Cox, cruise operator for Eco Abrolhos, did say that it was likely that the whale had gone into too shallow waters and drowned before the sharks began to attack.

“We had passengers from Perth, Melbourne and Sydney – they said it was the most amazing thing they’d ever seen in their life,” Mr. Cox said.

Yeeeaah, not going in the ocean ever again. Nope. Uh uh.
