The Actor Who Played Anakin Skywalker In ‘Star Wars Episode 1’ Has Been Arrested After High Speed Car Chase

Remember that cute little kid who played Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace and Jaime in Jingle All The Way? Seemed like your all-American good kid, no? Welp. The dude just got arrested in South Carolina after taking police on a reckless, high-speed wild goose chase.

According to TMZ,

Cops say Lloyd was driving in Charleston, South Carolina, when Sheriff’s deputies began pursuing him.  The chase was underway and it went on for miles, into another county.

Deputies say Jake began passing cars on the double yellow line and began driving recklessly, at high speeds.

Cops say eventually Jake lost control of his car, which ran off the road, through a fence and into a wooded area where it struck several trees.

The 26-year-old was arrested and charged with reckless driving, failure to stop, resisting arrest, and driving without a license.

Lloyd was reportedly going through a difficult time emotionally and had previously reported that his acting career brought him nothing but headaches. He told AV Club that his distain for the industry stemmed from being forced to do up to 60 interviews a day and getting taunted by classmates who “would make the light saber sound every time they passed him in the hallway.” So, he threw away all his Star Wars memorabilia and refused to watch any of the movies, claiming they are “creepy.”

You can’t tell he’s bitter at all from an interview in 2009. Gulp.

Let’s take a short trip down memory lane to uh, simpler times.

His latest role…

Note: not actual footage of the incident but I choose to believe it is.
