Linguist Believes The Australian Accent Arose From The Country’s Forefathers Being Drunk All The Time
Here’s a list of Australian words and slang terms:
Crack a fat
Piece of piss
Yup. Dean Frenkel’s theory that the Australian dialect was created under the influence of alcohol seems correct on surface. Here’s what the University of Melbourne communications professor had to say, though:
“Our forefathers regularly got drunk together and through their frequent interactions unknowingly added an alcoholic slur to our national speech patterns.”
Squigglyboggers I think he’s right.
