According To This Study Your Beard Might Actually Save Your Life, So Ditch That Razor
Don’t shave, bro. Just don’t do it. That beard will not only get you laid for being the very embodiment of masculinity, but as it turns out beards might actually save lives as well. A newly resurfaced study that tracked bearded vs. shaved hospital workers has shown that beards are resistant to extremely dangerous superbugs (MRSA, etc), and that being cleanly shaven actually increases the likelihood that a man will carry one of these life-threatening superbugs around a hospital.
According to research published in the Journal of Hospital Infection, having facial hair protected male hospital workers from carrying dangerous drug-resistant bacteria.
Researchers with the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston swabbed the faces of 408 male hospital workers both with and without beards. After testing the swabs, they found that the clean-shaven participants were three times more likely to be hosting methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, on their cheeks. The researchers hypothesized that shaving can cause micro-abrasions in the skin that attract the bacteria, the BBC reports.

Seriously bro, do you even know what MRSA does to you? It’s going to create huge puss-filled boils on your body that you’ll have to get drained by a doctor, and it’s one of the hardest superbugs to treat as MRSA’s resistant to virtually every treatment on the market. This is not something you want, so grow that motherfucking beard out before it’s too late!
And when I say ‘beards’ I’m talking about a normal-fucking-beard, not this ‘glitter beard‘ fad from a few months ago. If you want to protect yourself from deadly superbugs like MRSA then the data doesn’t lie: you should grow out you beard, bro. (h/t The Huffington Post)
