The world needs more teachers. I’m being completely serious. When you look at the basis of all human problems and creations, it all comes down to either the lack of or completion of a successful education. That being said, it’s definitely a lot of pressure to be under as a professional when the malleable young minds that are also the future of America are in your hands. It’s enough to drive a guy to drink. Much like this teacher in China did before beating his students with a broom for being ‘noisy’.

“A teacher has been suspended after shocking footage appeared to show him smacking pupils with a broom for fooling around in class. The video, secretly recorded by a pupil, seemingly shows Wang Xie whacking the children on the head and backside with a straw broom. He appears to have lined them up and is seen beckoning them in, one by one, to be beaten in front of their young classmates. Wang, who was said to have been drunk at the time of the incident, allegedly lost his temper after his class became noisy and unruly.
He has been suspended from his job in Li County, in north west China’s Gansu Province, while an investigation takes place.
Reports citing school pupils said the incident occurred when the children arrived late for a night class and then began fooling around outside. Outraged, Wang is accused of dragging them inside, lining them up, and hitting them one by one using the head of a straw broom. The pupils parents lodged complaints after the footage went viral.
In a statement, the school said Wang had apologised to the pupils and their parents and that the young learners were taken to hospital for checkups. They did not suffer any serious injuries, reports said.”

I’m not going to sit here and say that this is the proper way to handle your students. But also, he was a little tipsy and got concerned for the future of the human race. We never know when we’re going to need the next atomic bomb or cure for a new strain of AIDS. Or who’s going to supply us with said answers. Who do you think we’re going to have to turn to when the adult scientists can’t answer the call? Yep, child geniuses. This teacher just got scared that the future of the human race was being held in the hands of a bunch of loud-mouths who didn’t realize the importance of their future. Sure, this guy’s probably losing this job, but I also think he should get some sort of recognition for lighting a fire under the collective ass of his class. Maybe a plaque. At least name a lunch menu item after him.
