Study Finds That Mushrooms Are The Safest Drug You Can Take
For most people, the thought of hallucinations and the carpet dancing is a nightmare. To enjoy psychedelics, one must be willing to shelf the world as he knows it and succumb to otherworldly powers. No phones, no strangers, no bad vibes. If one can successfully embrace the weird, mushrooms are a spiritual experience. It’s like stepping into another dimension and in that dimension, a big furry bear is tickling you senseless. I have taken them twice and both times were fucking incredible. Completely understand why they’re being used medically to treat anxiety and depression.
That’s why I was quite pleased to learn that according to the annual Global Drug Survey, which polled close to 120,000 people in 50 countries about their drug and alcohol use, mushrooms are the safest drug of them all.
As VICE points out, more than 12,000 people said they did shrooms in 2016 and just 0.2 percent of them said they needed emergency medical care afterward. This rate was five to six times lower than LSD, cocaine, MDMA, and alcohol, and three times lower than weed.
According to Adam Winstock, a consultant addiction psychiatrist and founder of the Global Drug Survey, “death from toxicity is almost unheard of with poisoning with more dangerous fungi being a much greater risk in terms of serious harms.”
As VICE reports, even bad trips can have a positive outcome. In a study last year out of John’s Hopkins, 84 percent of people who had a bad trip said they benefitted from the experience, despite reporting varying degrees of psychological distress.
I’m telling you bros who don’t already know, the shit is enlightening. But remember the three rules: 1.) Good company, 2.) Safe environment, 3.) Don’t go crazy with the dosage (at least to start). See you bros in Mars.
