These Are The Top 10 Most Internet Famous Memes Of All-Time And Y U No Look?

The internet defines a meme as “an idea, behavior, or style that spreads from person to person within a culture.” Some memes have the internet shelf-life that fade out quicker than a Kardashian/Humphries marriage, some overstay their welcome like the morning after a drunk hookup (see: Jordan crying face), and some, *most, simply aren’t culturally relevant enough to last over time.

But in an internet world that basically starts at zero every morning, there are few memes that have stood the test of time–combining versatility, cultural relevance, and humor to stick around far longer than we ever asked for.

The folks over at FunnyStatus.com were able to compile a list of the top 10 memes of all time, based on data from cached results over the past several years that determined the number of unique memes created. Check out the scientific list below followed by my favorite example of each.

P.S. I feel like I’d be doing BroBible’s meme master, Cass Anderson, a disservice by not including his favorite meme–Jesus is a Jerk.

See you in Hell, Cass.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
