On Thursday, the two met for the first time since that historical night, with Delgado visiting Colon in his hospital room. Upon entering, the officer said ‘My name is Officer Omar Delgado. I’m one of the ones that helped you get out of harm’s way. I need a big hug from you, man.’

At a press conference on Tuesday, Colon relived his absolutely horrifying experience at the club, where he was trampled by club goers and forced to play dead as the gunman sprayed bullets into the bodies laying around his o’make surety were dead.’

‘I look over and he shoots the girl next to me. And I’m just there laying down. I’m thinking, ‘I’m next. I’m dead.”

Colon was shot twice more.

‘By the glory God, he shoots towards my head but it hits my hand. Then he shoots me again and it hits the side of my hip,’ he said. (via)
