Peacock Gets Lit And Trashes Liquor Store

This peacock had a rough day so it stopped into a liquor store to get some Wild Turkey. The liquor store owners we all like, “You’re a peacock, you can’t buy liquor, you don’t have I.D.” The peacock didn’t give a care and needed some bourbon so it put up a protest. That’s when the store owners called the cops to have this bird removed.

A police officer arrived at the Los Angeles-area liquor store armed with a net to remove the peacock (Technically it is a peahen, since the bird is female, but everyone knows what a peacock is and not a peahen, so for ease of comprehension, we will continue with peacock even though it is a peahen). The cop struggled mightily to escort the peacock out of the Royal Oaks Liquor Store in Arcadia, California.

“He was trying to get it with the fishing net, and (the bird) jumped on the first wine bottle. When that happened, I was like, ‘Aw, this is about to be a big mess,'” said Ghanem, a 21-year-old whose family owns the store. “He tried to get it again with the net … It just went straight diving into all the bottles. The more he kept on trying to use the net, the more it kept on flapping its wings and knocking everything over.”

It took 90 minutes for the peacock to be apprehended. During that time the bird broke $500 worth of alcohol.

“A peacock in a liquor store” is the 2017 version of the age-old adage “A bull in a China shop.”
