NFL Prospect Jarvis Miller Discusses The Highs and Lows While Preparing For NFL Draft Day

Ever since I was old enough to understand the hype that goes into the NFL Draft I have always wanted to interview a player on what could possibly be going through their minds on draft day. Think about it, whatever team decides to select you, that completely shapes the outlook of what your life looks like for the foreseeable future.

Could you imagine if universities got to select you in a draft and you didn’t have a choice on where you are going to be headed for the next four years of your life? It is a complete free for all and the emotions running through these families’ minds must be at an all-time high.

I have built a relationship with Saquon Barkley over the past year, but he is a different story. He was a guaranteed Top 5 pick and had a really good idea on which city and organization he would be with for the next few years. With that being said, it was a perfect chance to sit down with his old college roommate Jarvis Miller, an outside linebacker who is fighting his way to hear his name called on draft day.

Miller played four years with the Nittany Lions before playing at UMass last season as a graduate student.

With this opportunity, I was able to ask the question every middle-aged guy like myself wants to know, what is it like walking a Division 1 campus at a premier football university as a player on the team? Nothing was off-limits and I was able to cover it all in the 25 minutes we spent together.

Miller has an incredible head on his shoulders and has a clear vision for what he wants and the way he sees the next five years of his life going, regardless of what team selects him.
