Kelloggs Redesigned Toucan Sam And People Are Angry

I say it and I mean it, cereal is something that is so nostalgic that you simply can not mess with it. For those of you that are late to the party, Kellogg’s decided to give a total makeover to the face of Fruit Loops since 1963 Toucan Sam, and I am NOT happy about it.

I took on this topic on The Brilliantly Dumb Show Episode 67 in one of the most passionate rants in the show’s history. Cereal hits home for me, it always has. There is something about cereal that just resembles your childhood and can take you back to certain times of your early life. Whether it’s Tony the Tiger, or The Captain from Cap’n Crunch, the mascot that goes on the box plays a huge role in your cereal of choice.

This new Toucan Sam looks like he just got the shit kicked out of him by a rainbow. Isn’t there some sort of roll out process or a fan vote that needs to take place before we totally mess with the legacy of Fruit Loops? Maybe there was one but I sure as hell do not remember seeing it. Let’s call it like it is, Kelloggs, who is a powerhouse in the cereal community, pulled a fast one on us with this.

Maybe I am being a little harsh on Kelloggs here, but if you’re passionate about something you’ve got to fight for it and that’s what I am doing here, fighting for the great people of the cereal community.
