Here Are The Biggest Dating Trends of 2017, According To A Study Of Over 40 Million Online Daters
Hardly a week has gone by in 2017 in which we didn’t try to help a brother out with some new and unique dating trends and advice. While there are now many more avenues to finding a date than there were even 10 years ago, it doesn’t mean a bro couldn’t still use a little assist now and then.
We literally try to leave no stone unturned when it comes to helping a fellow bro not only score some dates, but make sure that they also have a decent shot at developing into something resembling a successful relationship.
From what it means when you call your partner pet names to how to choose the best profile photo to what are the best opening lines to use on a dating app, we do our best to make sure you’re covered.
So, with 2017 mercifully nearing its end, the dating-mavens over at online dating site and app Zoosk decided to take a scientific look back at just what exactly we may have learned about dating in 2017.
To determine the list of 2017’s biggest dating trends below, Zoosk used data culled from their dating site and app’s over 40 million members to take the pulse of what the world of dating looked like in 2017, as well as how dating has changed and evolved when compared to years previous.
Here’s what they uncovered. Might want to take a few notes.
1. Nice guys finish first.
Men who have words like thoughtful, listener, polite, giving, community, give back, or friendly in their profile get up to 66% more messages than the average profile.
2. It’s time to cool it with the filters.
A study found that while people who use filters like “non-smoking” and “college-educated” send out more messages, they end up receiving 11% fewer replies than people who use no filters.
3. More people are dating outside their age range.
