With The Open Championship now in the books we’ve officially made it past the three-quarter point of this year’s Majors with only the PGA Championship looming ahead in a few short days. Other than that, the only super-serious golf events left on the horizon in 2018 are the FedEx Cup playoffs and the Ryder Cup.
But who is going to be playing when America takes on the Euros September 28th through the 30th at Le Golf National in Paris?
Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson, Patrick Reed, Justin Thomas, Bubba Watson, Jordan Spieth, and Rickie Fowler are pretty much locks for the U.S., but who outside of the top seven in the current standings will make the U.S. Ryder Cup roster in 2018? Bryson DeChambeau? Xander Schauffele? Matt Kuchar?
Our buds over at BetDSI, who predicted Tiger’s nice run in The Open Championship, have a decent idea and have already placed odds on the chances of 15 players outside of the top seven making the squad.
The good news (if they’re right) is that oddsmakers anticipate both Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson will be competing in September as they are heavy favorites to be leading the stars and stripes to victory over in France.
