Players At The 2020 NFL Draft Will Need A Boat To Get Taken To A Stage In The Middle Of The Bellagio Fountains For The Red Carpet

For the most part, the NFL Draft is a pretty standard affair that follows a pretty similar formula from year to year: the best players in the country throw on a snazzy suit and sit alongside their fellow prospects as they anxiously wait to have their lives changed in an instant when Roger Goodell takes to the stage to call their name (while hoping they’re not left sitting in the green room when everything is said and done).

Once that happens, they’ll stride out onto the stage and receive a welcome gift and some swag in the form of a firm handshake from the commissioner and complimentary hat before celebrating however they see fit, which frequently involves throwing down a credit card to cover a sizeable bar tab they can pay off as soon as they get their massive signing bonus.

This year, draft picks will have plenty of options when it comes to partying their ass off after getting selected thanks to the NFL, which decided there was no better place to host the festivities than Las Vegas as the city prepares to welcome the Raiders to their new home next season.

The league also had plenty of options to pick from when deciding where it was going to host the festivities, and while the draft itself will take place next to Caesars Forum, there will also be a red carpet event on a platform erected in the middle of the fountains in front of the Bellagio.

There’s no denying it’s a pretty awesome backdrop but it does present a few logistical problems, including how to transport people to the stage. Luckily, the NFL came up with an equally awesome solution: a damn boat that transports people across the water.

There were initially reports that the draft itself would take place on the stage and the internet was subsequently whipped into a frenzy but the record has been corrected by a few people trying to stop the spread of misinformation.

With that said, the NFL still has time to give the people what they want. Let’s make it happen, Roger.
