The 2023 Home Run Derby is just around the corner, July 10th, and the winner this year will receive an incredible gold chain with over 1,000 stones.

Though there haven’t been too many details released so far, the official MLB account on Instagram released a video of the Home Run Derby chain that will be awarded to the biggest bat on Monday.

This year’s Home Run Derby and All Star Game will be held in Seattle with the Mariners hosting the baseball world. Evidently, the Mariners had lot of creative control over the Home Run Derby chain as it’s an iced-out version of the team’s nautical-themed logo.

You can find that video here, direct on Instagram, if it isn’t loading. Or here on Twitter:

According to TMZ Sports, there are over 1,000 stones featured on the chain that weighs over 3 pounds. The center piece is made of recycled glass and is packed with ’75 carats of white and yellow Swarovski Crystals.’

And the best part is how much street cred the Home Run Derby winner will get when he wears this to the ballpark. It is a 1-of-1 piece that every ball player in the league knows about.

The 2023 Home Run Derby will take place on Monday night at 8 PM est. Pete Alonso (+25) is the favorite followed by Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (+300). The other participants, in order of odds, are Julio Rodriguez, Luis Robert Jr., Adolis Garcia, Randy Arozarena, Adley Rutschman, and Mookie Betts.

Chains have become a very popular part of MLB culture in recent years. Case in point, Edwin Diaz’s new $250K ‘Trumpet’ necklace.
