The San Francisco 49ers have solidified their commitment to head coach Kyle Shanahan and General Manager John Lynch by signing them to multi-year contract extensions.

The announcement comes as the team is off to an impressive 3-0 start in the 2023 season, following their NFC Championship game appearance last year.

Shanahan and Lynch, who have been working together on the 49ers since 2017, were previously signed through 2025 and 2024, respectively.

The exact length of their new extensions has not been disclosed, but the move signifies the 49ers’ faith in their leadership.

Under the guidance of Shanahan and Lynch, the 49ers have compiled a commendable 55-46 record during the regular season. Their postseason success has also been notable, with a 6-3 record and three appearances in the NFC title game.

While they clinched victory in one of those NFC title games, the elusive Super Bowl championship remains their ultimate goal, having reached Super Bowl LIV but narrowly fell to the Kansas City Chiefs.

With the recent contract extensions, Shanahan and Lynch are now poised for several more opportunities to pursue that coveted Super Bowl title, as they continue to steer the San Francisco 49ers towards success.
