San Francisco 49ers’ star defensive player, Nick Bosa, is setting his sights on a historic payday that could make him the highest-paid defensive player in NFL history.

The 25-year-old defensive end is reportedly aiming to surpass the $31 million average per year (APY) contract earned by Los Angeles Rams’ standout, Aaron Donald.

ESPN’s NFL insider, Jeremy Fowler, shared this intriguing revelation during an ESPN broadcast, stating that many individuals around the league he talked to believe Bosa is poised to achieve this groundbreaking contract.

Bosa’s pursuit of a record-breaking deal hasn’t been without its challenges. During his contract holdout this training camp and pre-season, Bosa has accrued more than a million dollars in fines.

Fortunately for Bosa, being on his rookie deal grants the 49ers the option to waive these fines, a privilege not enjoyed by other players such as the Chiefs’ Chris Jones.

Nick Bosa entered the NFL as the 2nd overall pick in the 2019 draft, and he’s made an indelible mark on the league since then. In just 51 games played during his career, Bosa has managed to rack up an impressive 43 sacks, including leading the league with 18.5 sacks in the last season.

Bosa’s impact goes beyond sacks, as he has also recorded 106 quarterback hits, 56 tackles for a loss, and forced 8 fumbles throughout his career.

Bosa’s outstanding performance has positioned him as one of the most dominant defensive players in the NFL, making his pursuit of the highest-paid defensive player title all the more compelling.
