Aaron Judge was officially welcomed back to The Bronx by Hal Steinbrenner who bestowed the ultimate honor upon him.

]Judge now walks in the same shoes as Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Don Mattingly, and Derek Deter.

Prior to Judge receiving this honor, there had only been 15 captains in the history of the New York Yankees. Aaron is now the 16th team captain in the history of baseball’s most storied franchise.

This came after Aaron Judge had not only the best year of his career but one of the best years of any baseball player ever. His contributions to The Bronx and banner year led to a 9-year contract worth $360 million, making him one of the highest-paid athletes of all-time.

There hasn’t been a New York Yankees captain since ‘The Captain’ himself, Derek Jeter, retired in 2014. The role remained vacant for 8 years until Han Steinbrenner bestowed the ultimate honor upon Judge.
