Aaron Rodgers apparently needed to see a man about a horse in Ohio. After declining his invitation to play in the Pro Bowl because of his nagging toe injury the Green Bay Packers quarterback was spotted in the Buckeye state on Saturday.

As a result, speculation has begun about his potential future with the Cleveland Browns.

Before we go any further— there is a slim chance that Rodgers is planning on signing with the Browns this offseason. There is also a very slim chance that his recent visit to Ohio had anything to do with the Browns.

But Browns fans — you have to appreciate their hope — seem to think that there’s a chance. There is not. Well, there always is a chance… but there is not.

On Saturday afternoon, a photo surfaced on Twitter of Rodgers at a youth basketball game in the Columbus, Ohio area.

Rodgers was not there for a meeting. His good friend and former teammate A.J. Hawk lives in the area and Rodgers was in town to visit.

But why was he at a youth basketball game?

Well, Hawk coaches his children and was leading the Dublin team, which was playing against the Olentangy district team. Rodgers was with the Hawk family in the bleachers watching his friend coach his child’s team. Per multiple on-site reports, Rodgers was extremely gracious to the other people in attendance, was kind to all of the young fans and even signed some autographs.

Of course, it caused the rumors to swirl.

Could Rodgers have stopped by Cleveland to meet with the Browns before heading to Columbus and meeting up with the Hawks? Sure. Could he swing by Cleveland to meet with the Browns on his way out of Ohio? Sure.

Is he going to? Did he? Probably not. Rodgers is not going to leave the Packers and sign with the Browns. Can you imagine being a free agent of his caliber, with his worth, and choosing, consciously, to live in Cleveland? And to play for the Browns? No way.
