On the latest episode of Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the New York Jets, Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was caught on camera trash-talking New York Giants linebacker Jihan Ward during the preseason game between the two teams last weekend.
In the clip, Rodgers — taking offense to Ward making contact with him after he threw the ball — fired a diss his way by saying he “doesn’t even know” who Ward is.
Following the premiere of the most recent episode of Hard Knocks, the moment has gone viral on social media, which has prompted a response from Ward, who said Rodgers’ behavior “pissed off the whole team”
“Everybody going to get pissed off at that. The whole team was pissed off, you know what I’m saying?” It’s preseason and all that stuff and you’re going to do some reaction like that? It’s cool, though. That’s how they roll. I think we play them soon, it is what it is,” Ward said to reporters earlier this week.
Ward and the rest of the G-Men will certainly have their chance to get revenge on Rodgers and Gang Green as the two teams are set to square off on Sunday, October 29. It’ll certainly be a juicy matchup, too, as it’s the first time that both the Jets and the Giants are considered legitimate playoff contenders.
The NFL clearly has faith that the Jets and Giants are going to be competitive this year as both teams are set to be featured in nationally televised games during the opening weekend of the 2023-24 season.
On September 10, the Giants will host the Dallas Cowboys for the first Sunday Night Football game of the season. Then, about 24 hours later, the Jets will kick off their 2023 campaign when they host the Buffalo Bills for the first Monday Night Football bout of the year.
