New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers gave another lengthy interview on a fringe podcast, this time discussing the “responsibility” he feels to use his “platform” to speak his mind.

While appearing on the I Can Fly podcast, Rodgers waxed rhapsodic about himself, saying that he “thinks and speaks” for himself in a way that others can’t or won’t.

“I got a platform to speak. Some people hate it; some people want to shut me up,” Rodgers said. “… But I’m not controlled. Nobody controls my messaging. Nobody controls my social media. Nobody can control me. I think for myself; I speak for myself. And that’s dangerous to an establishment that wants more power, control and obedience.”

“Not everyone has a platform. Not everyone can go on The Pat McAfee Show whenever they want and talk their s— and have people listen to it. So, I take that responsibility to heart,” he continued.

Rodgers then explained how his buddy Robert F. Kennedy Jr is a hero because, conveniently similar to himself, he uses his platform to spak his mind.

“He’s [Robert F. Kennedy Jr] a hero. He’s stood up time and time again. And there are thousands and thousands and thousands of people like that who are heroes in their own way and have stood up.”

Despite reports that Rodgers was being considered by RFK Jr. to be his running mate, the California independent ultimately selected largely unknown lawyer Nicole Shanahan.

Instead of being involved in the Presidential election, Rodgers will be suiting up for the New York Jets this year with the hope of lasting more than a quarter after tearing his Achilles just four snaps into the 2023 season.
