During the preseason game between the New York Jets and the New York Giants, Aaron Rodgers was caught by NFL cameras trash-talking linebacker Jihan Ward by telling him that he “doesn’t even know” who he is.
In response to the clip going viral on social media, Ward spoke to reporters about the matter earlier this week and claimed that Rodgers “pissed off” the whole Giants team.
Ward also said that the Jets’ sideline was laughing at Giants safety Bobby McCain after he left the game with a concussion. Rodgers, however, has taken exception to Ward’s claims, telling the media that he’s “making s— up.”
“He thought we were laughing at his teammate? That never happened and I think he’s making s— up. I don’t care,” Rodgers said of Ward’s comments.
While Rodgers and the Jets ultimately got the best of the Giants in the preseason matchup, both teams will now certainly be looking forward to their regular season bout on Sunday, October 29.
The 2023-24 season is set to be an exciting one in New York City as both the Giants and the Jets are expected to be playoff contenders this year, with the Jets looking to break their league-leading 13-year playoff absence. The Jets, however, have better betting odds to win the Super Bowl than the Giants despite the fact that the G-Men are coming off a playoff appearance last season.
After making his debut for the Jets against the Giants, he’ll make his official regular season for the team against the Buffalo Bills on September 11 in the first Monday Night Football matchup of the season.
As for the Giants, they’ll be kicking off their campaign — the second year the head coach Brian Daboll is in charge of the team — against the Dallas Cowboys on September 10 in the first Sunday Night Football game of the year.
