Soon after the New York Jets added former Florida State University quarterback Jordan Travis to its roster in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, the young QB expressed his excitement to learn from future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers.

“It’s a blessing, for sure,” Travis said of being able to learn from Aaron Rodgers. “I want to learn everything. I want to pick his brain on everything he does. How he treats his teammates, how he carries himself on the field, off the field. I can’t wait.”

Based on Rodgers’ recent Twitter activity, the 40-year-old certainly plans to teach Travis about something, alright, and that’s the ultra-powerful hallucinogen Ayahuasca, as he liked a tweet saying “Get ready to learn ayahuasca, Jordan Travis.”

Rodgers’ likes on Twitter, aside from the occasional NFL-related content, are filled with tweets about politics and conspiracies.

Travis should consider him lucky if Rodgers takes the time to teach him about anything, as reports from The Athletic indicated that Rodgers virtually ghosted then-backup QB Zach Wilson after his injury despite publicly stating how much he liked the former BYU product.

Despite already winning a Super Bowl and four MVPs, the upcoming 2024 season is arguably the most critical of Rodgers’ career, as it’s likely that only leading the Jets to the playoffs will keep him and head coach Robert Saleh in town for another season.

Not only is Rodgers coming off of a serious Achilles injury, but he’s also mounted perpetually increasing pressure on himself with his increasingly conspiratorial views, such as publicly suggesting that the United States government created HIV.

While winning is usually able to paper over controversy — within reason and legality, of course — losing exasperates it, meaning the Jets might find themselves imploding quickly if things don’t go to plan (I’m a Jets fan — things won’t and it will).

Despite suffering a serious season-ending injury last November, the Jets selected Travis in the 5th round of the draft. He’ll likely spend the season as the team’s third-string signal-caller behind Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor.
