College football has produced camouflage jerseys, chrome helmets, and enough military-themed uniforms to outfit a small country, but Air Force has access to source material nobody else can really compete with. The Falcons just unveiled uniforms based on the B-21 Raider, America’s newest stealth bomber, for their Oct. 3 rivalry game against Navy.
The dark gray, black, and camouflage look is the 2026 installment of Air Force’s annual Air Power Legacy Series, which has spent the past decade turning actual military aircraft and missions into football uniforms. The Air Force reveal says the B-21 edition will debut at Falcon Stadium against the Navy Midshipmen in a nationally televised CBS game at 10 a.m. MT.
Air Force Basically Turned A Stealth Bomber Into A Football Uniform
This is not one of those alternate uniforms where the school changes the facemask color and then releases a 90-second video explaining how it represents courage.

The helmets incorporate the shape of the B-21 and are designed so the aircraft appears to be flying into battle when viewed from above. The uniforms include patches representing Air Force Global Strike Command, the 412th Test Wing and Air Force Materiel Command, all of which have connections to the Raider’s development and eventual operation.
There is even a red towel designed to look like a “Remove Before Flight” safety streamer.
Because apparently the only thing preventing a college football uniform from technically becoming an aircraft was adding preflight equipment.
The Falcons have been doing this since 2016. Previous versions have honored everything from the Tuskegee Airmen and Space Force to the AC-130, F-35, and B-52 bomber.
The B-21 might be the coolest concept yet simply because the aircraft itself is still becoming real.
The Bomber Is Still In Flight Testing
The Raider is designed to eventually become the backbone of America’s long-range bomber force alongside the B-52, carrying both conventional and nuclear weapons while operating in highly contested airspace.
It is also not just some concept drawing that Air Force pulled from a PowerPoint.
The B-21 program is currently conducting flight testing, including aerial refueling work with KC-135 tankers. Multiple aircraft are in the testing pipeline, while Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota is preparing to become the Raider’s first main operating base.
So Air Force football is essentially wearing a uniform based on a weapon system that is still going through its own preseason.
The name has history too. The B-21 Raider honors the Doolittle Raiders, the 80 airmen who launched 16 B-25 bombers from the USS Hornet for the famous 1942 raid on Japan. The “21” designation recognizes it as the first new American bomber of the 21st century.
That gives Air Force a fairly unfair advantage in the alternate-uniform department.
Most college programs have to work with school colors, local landmarks or some vague historical anniversary.
Air Force can apparently just wait until America builds a new stealth bomber and put it on a helmet.
