Report: Alex Rodriguez Has Made A Decision On Retirement

New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez has had an interesting 21 seasons in major league baseball, to say the least, and the 14-time All-Star has made a decision on when it’s all going to end for him.

Talking to ESPN, A-Rod will be hanging up his cleats following the 2017 season.

“I won’t play after next year,” Rodriguez told ESPN on Wednesday. “I’ve really enjoyed my time. For me, it is time for me to go home and be dad.”

Scheduled to make $21 million in both 2016 and ’17 as part of the 10-year, $275 million extension he signed with the Bronx Bombers prior to the 2008 season, Rodriguez hopes to build off of his bounce back campaign last year when he hit .250 with 33 homers and drove in 86 runs. He will turn 41 years old in July.

Rumored to be dating Anne Wojcicki—the former wife of Google’s founder—maybe Alex is dipping into her millions of dollars to live on for the rest of his life? Kidding…but wouldn’t that be such an A-Rod thing to do?
